Description

The housing market has changed dramatically over the past many years. Inventory is lower than ever, prices are higher than ever. That said, there are some fantastic, affordable options to buy your first home in the city. Learn to manage the home-buying process as a series of smaller steps, understand who is involved at various points in the home-buying process, calculate how much you can afford and review the mortgage loan application process. In this workshop you will learn about the various homeownership types in San Francisco including Below Market Rate (BMR) units. We will review Federal and City level first time homebuyer assistance programs including the Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (DALP) and The Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC)

This workshop series is approved by the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and offers a certificate in homebuyer education upon completion of the series. Please note, this workshop is 4 hours long, in order to complete the 6 hour workshop requirement you will need to attend either "The Basics of Budgeting and Saving" or "Managing Credit and Debt" here at the Center as well.
